Introduction

Investor settings allow you to customize loan structures by assigning default investors, automating payout schedules, and enabling management fees and tax deductions. These settings ensure consistency, accuracy, and efficiency in investor transactions.

Navigating to Investor Settings

  1. Click the Gear icon in the top-right corner to open Settings.

  2. Select Company Settings.

  3. Expand Loan Setup/Origination in the left-hand navigation menu.

  4. Click Stakeholder Setup.

Tip: Configuring default investor settings reduces manual data entry and ensures consistency across all loans.

Setting

Default Investor

Automatically assigns an investor to new loans, reducing setup time.

Default Payout Day

Sets a specific day of the month (e.g., 15th) for investor payments, ensuring consistency.

Investor Management Fees and Taxes

Setting

Description

Enable Management Fee

Applies an automatic investor management fee to each loan.

Charge Investor Management Fee by Default

Ensures the fee is applied automatically when setting up a loan.

Apply Sales Tax

Sets a default tax rate on investor payments for automatic deductions.

Charge Investor Fee/Taxes on Interest Adjustments

Includes fees and taxes when interest is adjusted (e.g., at funding).

Management Fee Interest Adjustment on Partial Paydowns

Recalculates fees if loan terms change due to paydowns, draws, or rate adjustments.

Enable Tax Withholding

Adds a "Withhold Tax" checkbox in the loan's investor section to specify a tax deduction rate.

Reminder: Ensure that management fees and tax settings align with investor agreements and regulatory requirements.
