Overview
Connect Mortgage Automator to an AI assistant using MCP and ask questions about your loan portfolio in plain English.
Mortgage Automator's MCP integration allows supported AI assistants, including Claude and ChatGPT, to securely access information from your Mortgage Automator account. Once connected, you can ask questions about your loans, borrowers, investors, and portfolio without having to manually search through individual loan files.
For example, you can ask:
“Show me all loans maturing in the next 60 days.”
“Give me a portfolio overview of my active loans.
“Pull the borrower details for loan #101.
“List all borrowers currently in my system.”
“Give me details about loan #1452.”
The connection uses MCP (Model Context Protocol), a standard that allows AI applications to securely connect to Mortgage Automator and retrieve information from your account.
Prerequisites:
Before beginning, you will need:
Your Mortgage Automator email and password
API access enabled in your Mortgage Automator subscription
A supported Claude or ChatGPT account
The Mortgage Automator MCP URL:
Note: The options you see in Claude/ChatGPT may vary depending on your subscription plan and workspace permissions. Some users may see different menu names or connection options when setting up the Mortgage Automator MCP.
Connecting Mortgage Automator to Claude
Step 1 — Open Claude and Select Customize
Open the Claude Desktop app.
From the navigation panel on the left, click Customize.
Step 2 — Navigate to Connectors
From the Customize section:
Click Connectors
Locate the + button in the top-right corner
Click +
Select Add custom connector
Step 3 — Add the Mortgage Automator MCP
Enter the following information:
Name: Mortgage Automator MCP v1
Click Add.
Mortgage Automator MCP v1 will now appear under Not connected.
Step 4 — Connect Your Mortgage Automator Account
Select Mortgage Automator MCP v1
Click Connect
A Mortgage Automator sign-in window will open
Enter your Mortgage Automator email and password
Click Sign In
Step 5 — Authorize Access
After signing in, the Authorize Access page will appear.
Claude will request:
Identity — verifies who you are
Offline Access — allows your authenticated connection to remain available when you are not actively using the app
Click Allow.
Step 6 — Confirm the Connection
You will be returned to the Claude Connectors page.
Mortgage Automator MCP v1 should now appear under the Web section rather than Not connected.
You should also see the Mortgage Automator tools available to Claude.
Step 7 — Review Tool Permissions
You can control whether Claude is allowed to use individual Mortgage Automator tools.
Available options include:
Always allow — Claude can automatically use the tool when required
Needs approval — Claude asks you before using the tool
Blocked — Claude cannot use the tool
For the easiest experience, Always allow can be selected for tools you are comfortable allowing Claude to access.
Connecting Mortgage Automator to ChatGPT
ChatGPT connects to Mortgage Automator through a custom MCP app.
Step 1 — Ospen ChatGPT Setting
Open ChatGPT on the web.
Open Settings
Select Security and login
Enable Developer Mode
Step 2 — Create a Custom App
Once Developer Mode is enabled:
Navigate to Plugins
Click the + to create a new Plugin
Step 3 — Enter the Mortgage Automator MCP Details
Enter: Name: Mortgage Automator MCP v1
MCP Server / Endpoint: https://api-mcp.mortgageautomator.com/mcp
Select the appropriate authentication option when prompted.
Click Scan Tools.
ChatGPT will connect to the Mortgage Automator MCP server and identify the available Mortgage Automator tools.
Step 4 — Sign In to Mortgage Automator
If prompted to authenticate:
The Mortgage Automator authorization page will open
Enter your Mortgage Automator email and password
Sign in
Review the requested access
Click Allow
Once authentication is complete, return to ChatGPT.
Step 5 — Create the App
After ChatGPT finishes scanning the Mortgage Automator tools:
Review the detected tools
Click Create
Mortgage Automator should now appear under your available ChatGPT apps.
Test Your Connection
After connecting either Claude or ChatGPT, try one of the following:
“Give me a portfolio overview of all my active loans.”
“List all borrowers currently in my system.”
“Give me details about loan #101.”
“Show me all loans maturing in the next 60 days.”
If the AI assistant returns information from your Mortgage Automator account, the connection is working correctly.
