Share Settings
Share Price Configuration
Setting | Description |
Share Price | Choose between Fixed or Floating pricing, depending on how the share value should behave over time. |
NAV Calculated | Available if Floating is selected. Choose Pre-DRIP or Post-DRIP to control when DRIP is factored into NAV. |
Fixed: Share prices remain constant, making returns easier to calculate and predict.
Floating: Share prices adjust based on the fund’s Net Asset Value (NAV), reflecting performance changes.
Pre-DRIP: Calculates NAV before DRIP contributions are applied, which may result in a higher NAV.
Post-DRIP: Includes DRIP in the NAV calculation, potentially lowering the NAV due to additional shares.
Investor Payout Options
This setting appears regardless of share type. Enabling Regular Monthly Payout unlocks additional configuration options. Disabling it activates Variable Payout Type.
When Regular Monthly Payout is Enabled
Setting | Description |
Regular Payout Style | Choose Annual-Even or Month-Specific to define how interest is calculated monthly. |
Regular Payout Per Diem Style | Choose how daily interest is calculated: Month-Specific, Annual-Even, or 30/360. |
Interest Calculated On | (Floating only) Choose Fund Balance or Invested Balance for interest accruals. |
Regular Payout Display | Controls whether interest is shown at the end of the current month or the start of the next month. |
When Regular Monthly Payout is Disabled
Setting | Description |
Variable Payout Type | Choose how to classify non-monthly distributions: Dividend/Top Up or Interest Distribution. |
Distribution Settings
These settings define how dividends are allocated and how DRIP certificates and withholding taxes are applied.
Setting | Description |
DRIP Certificate Issuance | Enable this to issue certificates for Dividend Reinvestment Plans (DRIPs). |
Withheld Tax Priority | Choose whether tax is withheld from DRIP reinvestments or payout distributions first. |
Distribution Method
Controls how dividends are distributed based on shareholdings and timeframes.
Method | Description |
Specific Date Holdings | Allocates dividends based on each investor’s share count on a specific date. |
Daily Proportionate Earnings | Spreads the dividend evenly over a date range and allocates each day’s portion by share ownership. |
# of Days (Investor Specific) | Totals each investor’s shares held across a defined range, allocating based on cumulative daily share totals. |
Display and Timing Settings
Regular Payout Display
Controls whether interest appears on the last day of the current month or the first day of the next month.
One-Time Distribution Display
Sets whether one-time payouts show on the distribution date or the final day of the accrual period.
Deposit Date Mode
Defines whether deposits count toward interest immediately or from the next month. Options also govern whether the deposit date is included or excluded.
Redemption Date Mode
Choose whether the redemption date is counted in payout calculations. Including it adds interest for that day; excluding it ends interest accrual the day before.
FAQs
What happens if I enable Regular Monthly Payout but don’t configure payout styles?
The system will use default payout behavior, but for accurate reporting and calculations, it’s recommended to set both the payout style and per diem method.
Can I switch from Fixed to Floating share pricing after the fund has started?
While technically possible, changing share pricing mid-operation can affect reporting and investor expectations. Review implications carefully before making changes.
Do DRIP certificates generate automatically for every distribution?
No. Certificates are only generated if the DRIP Certificate Issuance setting is enabled under Distribution Settings.
